For us, the idea of going to Langkawi for holiday is for it's famous Langkawi Cable Car. It was in our itinerary on Day 1 before checking in to The Andaman resort.
Unfortunately, the cable car wasn't in operations when I called them after our lunch, due to windy weather. We decided to adjourn to Laman Padi Langkawi first and went for cable car ride thereafter.
The weather was still windy when we reached Oriental Village, where the cable car station was situated. We had a short break at one of the cafe.
On our third day in Langkawi, the weather was still windy and the staff told me that over the last few days, the cable car resume operations only in late afternoon.
After breakfast, we had our duty free shopping at Teow Soon Huat Duty Free and visited Look Out Point Langkawi. Then, we went to Oriental Village to try our luck with the cable car ride as we were leaving Langkawi the following day.
There's special fare rate of 50% discount for Malaysian with MyKad. We bought the cable car ride ticket at RM15 for adults and RM10 for kid each. Express ticket was sold at RM. We had a quick lunch and adjourned to queue for cable car rides. The queue was very long as it was school holiday and the cable car wasn't in operations in the morning. We queued for more than an hour.

The journey to the top of the mountain and vice versa took about 15 minutes (excluding queuing time).
We did not manage to have a stop and enjoy the scenery and view at the suspension bridge (skybridge), observation deck and top station as we were rushing for our evening dinner cruise where we need to be at Awana Porto Malai resort at 4.30pm.
You are encourage to call the cable car office to check on its maintenance schedule and also if the cable car is in operation due to weather condition.
The cable car station is about 12 km away from the airport (approximately 17 minutes drive if travel by car).
